Faced with
the growing importance of data security, this research aims to examine the
Guinean legal and regulatory framework relating to the protection of scientific
data. Through a systematic analysis of legal and regulatory provisions,
enriched by interviews with key players in the academic and scientific
community, the study evaluates the coherence and efficiency of legislation in
Guinea with regard to international standards. Preliminary findings reveal the
existence of notable progress but also significant deficits, particularly with
regard to alignment with international data protection standards. On this
basis, recommendations are put forward with the aim of improving the current
legal and regulatory structure for optimal safeguarding of scientific data in
the Republic of Guinea.
